Pathology

We have the latest in-house IDEXX blood pathology and other laboratory equipment. Our clinic can perform blood counts, biochemistry, hormone levels, blood coagulation profiles, blood gases for severely ill patients, in-house cytology and urinalysis. In emergency cases, our in-house results can be available within minutes, enabling our vets to diagnose conditions and commence treatment without delay. Some pathology specimens are required to be sent to an external laboratory for testing (such as biopsies or cultures), and these results can take longer. If external testing is required, our vets will advise you of the expected timeframe for those results.

Surgery

Our vets are experienced, and our operating theatre is equipped, to perform a variety of surgeries, ranging from routine desexing procedures to soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. Our operating theatre is equipped with a Cardell anaesthetic monitor (which monitors heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, blood pressure, core body temperature and can perform ECG’s), Darvell heated breathing circuit, heated IV fluids and heat mat to maintain the patient’s core body temperature during procedures, and our nurses constantly monitor surgical patients. Less sterile procedures (such as dentals) are conducted in our specialised wet procedures area.

Dentals

Plaque and tartar build up means there is an accumulation of food, hair and bacterial under the gum line, which exposes the gums to constant infection (Gingivitis). This can lead to loose and rotten teeth (Periodental Disease). As the infection gets worse it can spread to the bone of the jaw and sometimes even the facial sinuses. The infection is also absorbed into the blood stream and can cause other general health problems. Removal of scale and infection through a dental produces a happier, healther pet and a much nicer breath!! Dentals are performed as a day procedure Monday-Friday. Dental checks are always undertaken at your pet’s annual health check.

Imaging

Our clinic has a brand new Sedecal x-ray machine and digital processor, minimising your pet’s exposure to x-rays and enabling us to undertake x-rays quickly with sharp images. We can also perform ultrasounds if required.

Pharmacy

We have a very well stocked pharmacy with a range of medications on hand to treat your pet’s condition. If the medication required is not in stock and is needed urgently, we can usually order it in within 24 hours.
