Welcome to Birkdale Veterinary Clinic

From its humble beginnings in 2003, Birkdale Veterinary Clinic has grown to include 7 vets and 8 nurses and support staff.

We believe the success of the clinic has been based on the ethos of providing a quality and friendly veterinary service, aimed at delivering effective preventative and therapeutic veterinary medicine and surgery, without over-servicing.

Birkdale Veterinary Clinic is independently and locally owned and operated; established in 2003 by Dr John Allerton. The Clinic originally operated from a house alongside the Woolworths Petrol Station on Birkdale Road, and moved to its current modern, purpose-built premises in 2013.

Our clinic boasts cutting edge in-house pathology and radiology equipment, a fully equipped surgery and wet procedures/treatment area, imaging room, 2 consultation rooms, separate dog and cat wards, a well-stocked pharmacy and a spacious and welcoming reception area containing a wide range of parasite control products and super premium foods (including a variety of Royal Canin and Hill’s veterinary diets).
